The Big Give offers short-cut for wealthy donors and charities
Charitable projects worth nearly £1 billion have been posted on philanthropy website the Big Give since it launched in 2007.
The website is the brainchild of Alec Reed, founder of the Reed Recruitment Group, who has pledged to spend £1 million promoting the site to wealthy individuals, corporate foundations, grant-making trusts and legacy advisors. More than 3,000 charities have posted projects so far.
The site allows donors to search quickly and discreetly for charitable projects in their field of interest, filtering their search options by donation amount, geographical location, charitable cause and type of beneficiary.

About The Big Give
The Big Give is the brainchild of Alec Reed, founder of Reed Recruitment Group and a number of international charities. The Big Give is fully funded by the Reed Foundation, the charitable arm of the Reed Recruitment Group.
The Big Give is free to users, and any registered UK charity may register and post their projects on the site.
Alec Reed CBE
Alec Reed founded the Reed Recruitment Group in the 1960s, and started the Reed Foundation in 1985 following the sale of a business interest. He has since founded a number of charities, including Ethiopiaid (founded 1989) which has taken Alec's initial investment of £1 million and created a return of over £20 million to fund indigenously run projects in Addis Ababa, and Womankind Worldwide, which has provided funding, training, and networking and learning opportunities to more than 80 community groups in Central and South America, South Asia, Eastern Europe and Africa for over 15 years.
