The Problem... Most small charitable projects and local community groups would benefit greatly from a quality website that outlines who they are and what they do. Despite the fact that a website is easier to distribute and cheaper to produce than printed materials, (such as brochures and leaflets) smaller local projects do not have the money or resources available for a professional web solution. The result is that almost all of the smaller local charities and community projects can not be found when searching the internet, or the few that can, often have a poorly designed website that does little to encourage visitors to get involved, or investigate further.
Project Objectives... Make professionally designed websites with Content Management Systems (CSM) available to smaller charitable projects for only £5 a month, £60 a year is less than most fees for hosting a domain name.Project Requirements... Design Aid volunteers have already drafted up a proposal for this project and are currently seeking funding and support to get this fantastic new creative solution up and running. This Document outlines the project ambitions and outputs and what is required to achieve these outputs. Read the draft proposal here in PDF format Project Costs... It is estimated that to get the MicroSites project established with a good range of professional web designs available and to establish a healthy customer base and support to sustain the projects will cost only £7,000. We already have a pledge of £2,000 from theStudio in the form of a web site build. The website will showcase the MicroSites project and the designs available as well as help market the project and find beneficiaries with a full e commerce solution fro those who wish to buy on-line. We hope to source the remaining £5,000 required for this project in the coming months and would very much like to have the project up and running before the year is out. Anyone who can help with this please do get in touch... We would love to here from potential funders or anyone with ideas and/or resources that will help us source the funding required for the project. |
