GVOC gives support to local voluntary groups in
Gateshead
Gateshead Voluntary Organisations Council provides advice, information and training, on funding, constitutions, finances and legal charitable structures, to voluntary and community groups in Gateshead. It promotes volunteering, and community involvement in local strategic planning.

SAFE SENSIBLE SOCIAL GRANTS
Gateshead Voluntary Organisations Council are distributing £50,000 in small grants of up to £2,500 to Gateshead’s voluntary and community sector, on behalf of the NHS Trust, South of Tyne & Wear.
Ideas, activities and projects which help alleviate alcohol related issues in the local community are sought. Applicants must address one or more of the following criteria:
Increasing community safety initiatives
Enhancing education, employment or skills opportunities for people affected by alcohol
Improving health and well-being of local people
Aiming to tackle alcohol related crime
Increasing services and activities of disadvantaged people focussing on alcohol prevention and education
To be eligible, organisations must be constituted and have a bank account in organisations name.

GRASSROOTS GRANTS ARE NOW AVAILABLE IN GATESHEAD!!
Grants from £250 to £5,000
Voluntary and Community Organisations are eligible
Eligible costs include equipment, community events, small scale training and staffing costs, local community activities and rent costs.
You must have an average income over 3 years of less than £20,000 per year.

Funding and Procurement Code
Introduction
The Government recognises that the voluntary and community sector can make a significant contribution to achieving the vision of a fair society, with strong communities and opportunity for everyone. Many voluntary and community organisations enter into a financial relationship with Government to deliver outcomes on its behalf.
It is important that the financial relationship is constructed in such a way that allows outcomes to be maximised. The Compact Code of Good Practice on Funding and Procurement aims to influence behaviour in both the voluntary and community sector and Government. The Code does this through setting a framework for the financial relationship; and setting out undertakings for both sides, based on what each side can expect from the other.
